Tips to Help You Remain Sober

As the new year approaches and before the holidays are upon us, many of us are starting to think about getting healthier and beginning to make positive changes for the upcoming year. Sober October is a chance to embrace positive changes or even begin a new journey.  This article provides you with some tips to help you remain sober during this time.

Sober October is a global initiative where people stop smoking, drinking, or using drugs for the 31 days of October. It’s a chance to give our bodies a break from the negative effects and gain awareness of the impact of using in our lives.

We recognize that sobriety isn’t always a choice when battling addiction. Those that have fought addiction, living sober is a necessity not just something to choose for a month. However, for those not yet in recovery, it may provide a reason to begin, and help support those in recovery as they continue the journey. It is the chance to step back and evaluate why using alcohol or drugs is a part of our lives, and give thought to why giving it up, even just temporarily, is important to you.
We encourage everyone whether in recovery or not to recognize Sober October as a positive step. It can serve as the beginning for some of us to begin a healthy, more fulfilling life recognizing the negative effects of drinking and drug use.
